Eugene Secuskie, age 67, of Guston, died Tuesday, June 8, 1999, at Norton's Medical Pavilion in Louis­ville, following a lengthy illness. Born November 24, 1931 in Bradenton, Florida, Mr. Secuskie was a son of the late Carl Secuskie and Mattie Elliott. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, a Merchant Marine, a farmer, a member of the Custer Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Brandenburg United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Misako "Dora" Secuskie; one daughter, Belinda Miller, Orlando, Florida; three stepdaughters, Mary M. Powell and Martha M. Shoptaugh, Louis­ville, and Geraldine M. Cole, Anchorage, Alaska; a sister, Margaret Thompson, Brandenburg, and four grandchildren, Robin Wayne, Guston, Skye Powell, Nikki Shoptaugh and J.W. Shoptaugh, Louisville. The body was cremated. A memorial service was held Friday, June 11, from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home, Irvington, with the Rev. Bob Cordle officiating.
