He was retired from Crounse Corporation as a chief engineer and was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jean Hinton Riley; three daughters, Charlene Cherry, Lawrenceburg, Marilyn Henning, Hardinsburg, and Tammy Butler, Irvington; two step­daughters, JoAnn Risinger, Lebanon, and Gayle Dowell, Hardinsburg; two stepsons, Andy Himmelhaver, Hardinsburg, and Tommy Himmelhaver, Harned; seven grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Riley, Radcliff, and James Riley, Louisville, and a sister, Darnell Wheatley, Hardinsburg. The funeral was held at 12 p.m. Sunday, August 1 from St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in McQuady, with Father Bruce Fogle officiating. Born June 18, 1917 in Breckinridge County, Mr. Rigsby was a son of the late Joe "Perk" Rigsby and Pearl Vandergriff. He was a construction worker for several years and a bus driver for the Breckinridge County School System for 20 plus years. His wife, Mrs. Bernadena Priest Rigsby, preceded him in death in 1985. Surviving are three daughters, Sharon Sue Mullis, Dothan, AL, Libby Ross, Irvington, and Betty Wheatley, OK; two sons, Jesse Rigsby, Lawrenceburg, and Troy Rigsby, Hardinsburg; three grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, and a great-stepgrandchild. The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 12 from the chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home, Irvington, with the Rev. Janet Carden officiating.
