She never regained consciousness. Mrs. Jarrett lived most of her girlhood life near Hardinsburg, where as a girl she joined the old Freedom Presbyterian church. The deceased would have been eighty-seven years old in December. Several years ago she fell and since then she had been a cripple, hardly able to go about the house, but kind friends, relatives and neighbours called often, taking her and her step-son James Jarrett, who has been in feeble health, and who sickened and died on Sunday following, something to eat, always remembering to put in some "sweets" for Mrs. Jarrett. She leaves one sister, Mrs. E. J. Bandy, of Columbus, O., and one brother, John Moredock, of Garfield, with many relatives and friends. After a short funeral service held at the home on Wednesday afternoon, by the Rev. Dell Roberts, the remains were laid beside her husband in the Hill Cemetery. JAMES JARRETT James D. Jarrett, "Uncle Jimmie", as he was called, passed away, just at the dawn of day on Sunday morning, October 14, at the age of severty-two years, and as he himself expressed a few days before, "I try to do all the good I can, and as little harm as possible" has ever been his motto. M. Jarrett never had good health, and for many years had been very feeble. He made his home with his step-mother, Mrs. Kate Jarrett, whose death occurred just four days before. Mr. Jarrett is survived by one sister, Mrs. Lon Smith, of Louisville. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church on Monday morning by the Rev. Dell Roberts.
