She was born in Breckinridge County on January 8, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Christopher Jeremiah SMITH and Iva TUCKER. She was retired from Eleanor BEARD Studio as a designer, and was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church. Preceding her in death was her husband, William W. IRWIN, a son. William L. IRWIN, and a granddaughter, Sherry WURTH. Surviving Mrs. IRWIN are: four daughters three sisters: Lucinda TURCOTT of Hudson, Ky (Breckinridge County) Lorene WILSON of Hardinsburg, Ky Alberta McCOY of Westview, Ky (Breckinridge County) two brothers: J. C. SMITH of Hardinsburg, Ky Coleman SMITH of Syrma, Tennessee (Rutherford County) 17 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren Services were held on Saturday, August 2, 2003 from the New Bethel Baptist Church.
