Chick, who has been exceedingly ill for some time, but who, as will be seen from the report of our Bewleyville correspondent, was supposed Saturday morning to be convalescing, was attacked by congestion of the brain and died Sunday night at 10 o'clock. A loving and obedient daughter, a kind and devoted wife, an indulgent and affectionate mother, a sincere and zealous Christian, in all these relations of life she bore well her part, and so lived that when the inevitable hour arrived death proved stingless and the grave won but a barren victory indeed. Mrs. Louisa Chick, the intelligence has just reached us, also departed this life Monday morning, at her residence near Bewleyville, in the 75th year of her age. She was the mother-in-law of the estimable lady whose decease is recorded above, and the mother of Messrs. George F., Abraham and Carroll Chick. She was indeed "a mother in Israel," one whose long life had been devoted to good and charitable deeds, and whose every act was based on the precepts of that religion that enfolded her as with a garment and made the transition from time to eternity as but a please jaunt from present content to future joys. We tender our condolence to friends George Chick and his stricken family in this hour of bereavement.
